Help The Friends of the Carrizo Plain
By 1987 public and private efforts to protect the Carrizo Plain as a single ecosystem culminated in the creation of The Carrizo Plain Natural Area, jointly managed by The Nature Conservancy, California Department of Fish and Game, and The Bureau of Land Management. The Carrizo Plain National Monument was established by presidential proclamation in 2001. The Monument occupies 205,000 acres in Central California, southwest of the San Joaquin Valley, between Bakersfield and San Luis Obispo.
The Friends of the Carrizo Plain work to support the managing partners in the Education, Interpretation, and Conservation of the unique resources of the Carrizo Plain National Monument.
In addition to the hundreds of individual members of the Friends that make contributions of time and money to further our mission, we encourage you to support the groups and organizations that are helping us achieve our Mission.

The Friends of the Carrizo Plain is a California (501)c Public Benefit Corporation. The Managing Partners of the Carrizo Plain National Monument are the United States Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management, The Nature Conservancy and the California Department of Fish and Game.
